In 2016, he inaugurated the discography of his Pavel project with the release of a track on the Czech label Neo Violence. Numerous others followed, notably on Eclect Rec., Sbire, Creaked Records and finally on Blizzard Audio Club, the stable that the artist co-founded and in which he now centralises all his new releases. His debut album 'Busy Being Broken' (2019) was named 'best Swiss electronic music album of 2019' by national radio station SRF3 (programme 'CH Beats'). Through his alias Pavel, Etienne Bel - who is also behind the Estelle Zamme project - expresses ultra- personal, emotional and fairly dramatic music. It's a distinctive kind of electronica, made up of metallic squeaks, ethereal synthesizers, frantic rhythms and a touch of acidity. In 2024, Pavel returns with 'Environment', his second album. Official release on May 3rd, 2024. 5 years after his debut album "Busy Being Broken", producer and musician Pavel returns in 2024 with a new LP, this time dealing with the theme of the natural environment, the host of all life on Earth. "Environment" is a concept album based on samples recorded by the artist over a period of several months throughout Switzerland. Rockfalls, the lapping of a lakeshore, a cracking glacier, winds cutting through fir trees, the massive hum of a waterfall, ice cubes colliding, the oozing of a cave, and so on. These audio recordings were used as a starting point to construct eight tracks faithful to Pavel's style: (dis)twisted electronica, elegant, melancholic and wickedly dramatic. For Pavel, "the pessimism of reason compels the optimism of will". This maxim, taken from Antonio Gramsci's "Prison Notebooks", sums up the essential message of the album.
