After diving into alien encounters and true crime, we're switching gears for episode 55 to a more eerie yet easy-going theme. Today, we're delving into some of America's most haunted bridges. Instead of focusing on one haunted location, though, this week we're exploring a few of the spookiest bridges across the country.
We start in Fairfax Station, Virginia, with the infamous Bunny Man Bridge, where legend says it's haunted by a serial killer in a rabbit costume. Or perhaps an escaped mental patient who is just looking for another body to hang from a tree with his mutilated rabbits.
Next, we travel to Denton, Texas, to Goatman’s Bridge. This iron-truss bridge is said to be haunted by the Goatman, an apparition with a goat's head. Legend says the Goatman is still looking for victims to satisfy his need for vengeance after the racial injustices he suffered in life.
We also discuss a picturesque covered bridge, located in Stowe Vermont, known as Emily's Bridge. Be cautious when visiting this bridge, however, because legend says Emily was jilted by her lover in life, and she's still looking for revenge- even in death.
We end the episode discussing the terrifying phenomenon of Crybaby Bridges- disturbingly found all across the country. These bridges share a common theme of the untimely death of infants or children- often at the hands of the mothers themselves. From disembodied cries, to little hands seemingly trying to push your car to safety, these stories are sure to send a chill down your spine!
Stay spooky, friends, stay safe, and sweet dreams!
And, as always, a huge thank you to Sean!
