But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. In this life there is usually a difference between who we are, and who we want to be. That’s not always good as it can be driven by insecurities and false images of our self, but as believers in Jesus this should definitely be the case. The reason being is because if we are self-aware enough we know who we are in reality, but also we know who we are in Christ, according to God’s Word we will see a difference. If we are honest they don’t always line up. For example, the scripture we just read is a beautiful description of the church, the Body of Christ. That is who we are. But are we?
