High Regard Show

In Episode 106 of the “High Regard Show,” “Puppy Raiser,” we interview Caryl Swain, a longtime puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence. Caryl is currently raising her eighth and ninth pups, Pedro and Andy, for the national nonprofit organization that provides assistance dogs to people with disabilities. She tells us how she trains the puppies over the course of 18 to 24 months — and how it's actually a good thing when it's time to say goodbye, even though it never gets easier.
