What’s Inside Your Broken Heart? Part 1
Manage episode 455999668 series 3625237
In the latest episode of "Heal the Broken-Hearted" with Cherie Sheridan, co-host Daniel Bobinski and Cherie delve into the importance of addressing deep-seated emotional wounds of the heart.
However, before getting to that topic, Cherie starts by reviewing the concept of soul ties (from the previous episode), particularly in the context of grief. "Sometimes we can go beyond normal grieving," she notes. When grief becomes debilitating, it may be necessary to break these spiritual bonds. Simply saying “I break the soul-tie between me and ______” is all that’s necessary in these situations.
The conversation then shifts to the impact of childhood trauma on our adult lives. Cherie points out that traumatic events can open doors to negative spiritual influences, affecting not only the individual but potentially their future offspring as well. "Every time that there's one of these events, doors are open and demonic activity comes in, whether it's fear, trauma, affliction, anger, or bitterness," she says. It’s important that we heal these wounds, not just for personal well-being but for breaking negative generational patterns.
The podcast also touches on the impact of anger and negative emotions, and that heart-wounds that occurred in childhood, whether we’re conscious of them or not, can be the driving force behind ungodly actions in our lives decades later. Daniel shared his personal struggle with anger in his younger years, illustrating how unresolved emotional wounds from early in his life manifested in self-defeating and destructive behaviors. He candidly shared that healing can be an ongoing journey, often requiring persistent effort to bring things to God as layers of pain from those wounds are brought to the surface.
Throughout the show, listeners are encouraged to surrender their pain to God, practice forgiveness (both towards themselves and others), and be proactive in their healing process.
The act of looking into our hearts and getting our heart wounds healed can lead to profound personal transformation and spiritual growth. By addressing deep-seated wounds and aligning with God's purpose, we can move from a place of pain to one of purpose and fulfillment.
The journey to healing may be challenging, but it is possible with faith in God, the desire to be healed, and the perseverance to see it through.
