His expertise spans various land use planning and development matters, and he regularly represents clients before the Ontario Land Tribunal and Toronto Local Appeal Body on issues such as zoning by-law amendments, minor variances, and site plan control. With a strong advocacy practice, Alexander excels in formal mediation and negotiations, appearing frequently before municipal councils and committees, as well as the Divisional Court. He also provides strategic advice on the Planning Act, Municipal Act, City of Toronto Act, and Ontario Heritage Act. Before joining Aird & Berlis, Alexander was a senior lawyer in the City of Toronto’s Legal Services Division, gaining in-depth knowledge of municipal development approval processes.
