Living Heritage (Part 1) by Good Day Cork
Manage episode 438765176 series 3598613
It’s easy to think of Cork (Ireland) as a fairly homogenous group but its history is much more diverse and international than we may think.
Our audio documentary 'Living Heritage’ explores the experiences of residents in Cork from varied cultural background and how their own traditions have fused with the locality.
Your host is author Cethan Leahy.
You have tuned into part 1. In this instalment, you hear from Banu Balaji and Remi Kolawole. Banu & Remi explore childhood memories of nature. They also reveal to us what role nature plays in their life today.
This episode of 'Living Heritage' is no short of a journey. Memories and conversations range from plucking flowers, daily rituals, the scent of flowers, exploring ancient wisdom, throwing stones into a river to walking barefoot.
'Living Heritage' is not only an invitation to connect with nature but also to understand different cultural practises of people living in Ireland.
You have listened now to part 1, don't miss part 2 of 'Living Heritage'.
‘Living Heritage’ is produced and published by Good Day Cork. The documentary has been created with support from Local Community Heritage and Biodiversity Grant Scheme from Cork City Council.
