It seems obvious that being in God’s Presence is paramount to our faith and life as followers of Jesus. When we dig deeper, however, we find that we substitute or settle for a way of life that is less than God’s best. We crave a formulaic approach to our relationship with God, whether intentionally or unintentionally. It was the same with the Israelites coming out of Egypt. They missed God’s heart and intention, craved their desires, and settled for a formula rather than a relationship. They failed to see that despite God’s intense holiness, He made a way for them to be with Him. In much the same way, we fail to realize the incomparable gift of Jesus, the perfect sacrifice and our great High Priest, who has given us unrestricted access to God the Father.
Do you crave God’s Presence? Are you cultivating a rhythm of being with Him throughout your day? We can only fulfill God’s will and desire to be together through this relationship. In this relationship, we also discover who we truly are in Him.
