These days American Single Malt is a growing whiskey category with almost 200 distilleries making their version of this spirit, but when George Stranahan and Jess Graber put their first whiskey in barrels in 2004 it was a bit of a leap of faith. Now that it's an established brand with a new head distiller, Stranahan's is going into the laboratory to produce some experimental whiskeys that stray well off the beaten path.
