As we continue in our series in Luke's Gospel. P Sam invites us to explore and examine what Jesus meant when he said that whoever wanted to follow Him must pick up their cross, deny themselves, and die to themselves daily. What did Jesus mean by this? What does it mean to pick up our cross? Is it a literal cross? Was he speaking figuratively? The idea of denying ourselves is foreign, with so much indulgence in our world (food, media consumption, etc). And the idea to die to self has been lost. Why did Jesus speak these words, and how do they relate to following Christ?
Join us as we explore these things that Jesus speaks about, and how they are relevant to us today in these times.
