He now consults in a number of areas and continues to author articles and presents on various subjects. A Registered Professional Forester and Certified Arborist, he has a B.A.(Hons) in History from Trent University, a B.Sc.F. from the University of Toronto and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia. He is a member of numerous forestry, arboricultural and historical organizations and received the Canadian Forestry Achievement Award from the Canadian Institute of Forestry in 2020.
