Praying to Our Ever-Loving Everlasting Father - John 17
(As opposed to sitting in Contemplative mystical silence.)
Many modern mystics instruct that one can engage God in prayer through entering "the silence," chanting Christian mantras, visualizing Jesus, and sitting meditatively in "listening prayer."
Contrary to these false teachings, this audio message takes a simple and straightforward look at Who we are to pray to, and how Jesus Christ Himself addressed "God our Father." This message includes:
- A look at our Lord’s prayers and the closeness and refuge that we too can have through praying and relying upon God our Father.
- Recognition of some of the divine titles ascribed to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- What Scripture teaches on how we are to view God, as opposed to personal improper beliefs about God.
- Defining what a Father is, and the intelligent apprehension that is involved in a father/child relationship.
- The proper view of God enables us in biblical prayer, praise, and experiencing the fullness of joy in the Lord.
- Jesus Christ - the Ultimate Son, and God the Father - the Ultimate Father.
- The deepest affection of love, intelligence, and confidence in God our Father!
Scriptures: John 17:1-24; Exodus 6; Exodus 20:7; Psalm 9:10; 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1; 1 Timothy 1:1-2; Ephesians 1:1-2; 2 Corinthians 1:3-7; John 20:16-18; Matthew 6:5-6; Galatians 4:6
