Pastor Micah started a new series this week called "I'll Be There For You!" This series focuses on the topic of friendship. Each week will will look at a different friendship from scripture along with a specific important characteristic of friendship. In scripture we see many examples of Godly friendship and how important it is to our walk with the Lord.
This week we look at the friendship between Jonathan and David and the characteristic of trust in friendship. Jonathan, the son of King Saul, ended up in a very difficult spot when he had to choose between his father and his best friend David whom he had made a covenant with. Looking at their friendship there are 3 key takeaways I want you to consider when it comes to the role of trust in friendship:
- True friendship is built on trust!
- True friendship is putting yourself third!
- True friendship is being present for your friend!
Bottom Line: Our friends matter so choose your friends wisely. They make a greater impact on your life then you may think!
