🌙 🎧We’ve got a great episode today with South Carolina’s own, Amanda Elliott! You’re not gonna want to miss this:
📰Not Just Happenstance: Amanda dives into the roots of her weekly Newsletter, the DoomScroll, and Wesley explains how he initially heard about it after an occurrence that seemed almost too coincidental.
👑King of Content: Elliott bestows the great honor of “King of Content” to Wisconsin Senate candidate, Eric Hovde. Hear how a piece of his routine outside of his political candidacy became a piece of digital content with a high volume of engagement.
🤪Embrace the Weirdness: Wesley and Amanda explore why some candidate’s unique, organic content sets them apart from the buttoned-up, stuffy political content of the past.
🔩How to Screw Up: Elliott shares more about her one-woman consulting shop: she and Wesley explore all the ways starting a business can go horribly wrong, or perfectly right.
👁️2020 Vision: Amanda reflects on how Governors across the country were vital in the response to COVID, and how entangled all of these policies got within a heated election cycle while she worked at the RGA.
🍼Bumping For the Win: Amanda reveals the intensity of her 2020 workload, even to the point of requesting to edit client content as she went into labor with her firstborn.

Amanda Elliott has spent the last 10 years working in digital Republican politics. Most recently, she served as Digital Director for the Republican Governors Association for the 2020, 2021, and 2022 election cycles. While at the RGA, she oversaw millions in digital media spend in dozens of competitive gubernatorial races around the country. In 2021, she launched the committee’s first online fundraising program, working with top-tier vendors and growing the active donor file from the ground up.

Prior to joining the RGA in 2017, Amanda did digital in-house at the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislation Action. There, she managed the organization’s social media presence during the 2016 presidential election cycle, launched its first-ever app, worked on ballot initiatives around the country, and engaged with the group’s 5 million+ members.

Amanda got her start in digital at CRC Public Relations, a boutique public affairs firm in Alexandria, VA. There, she worked with several issue advocacy clients on their social media content and strategy.

Amanda is also the writer of Doomscroll, a weekly newsletter about all things digital on the right.

After spending nearly 13 years in Washington, D.C., Amanda relocated in early 2023 to Greenville, South Carolina. She is a graduate of Clemson University.
