On November 27, 2022, Elon Musk revealed his Twitter 2.0, saying that new user signups are at an all-time high and that the company is actively recruiting. Musk's 2.0 version of Twitter includes long-form tweets, encrypted DMs, and "advertising as entertainment." According to internal company data, signups have increased by 66% and user active minutes have increased by 30%. Hate speech impressions appear to be slightly lower than a year ago, despite spikes around the time Musk took over the company. Twitter is also recruiting, after mass layoffs and resignations transformed the company's workforce.
