Axsome Therapeutics' candidate for Alzheimer's disease agitation, AXS-05, met the main goal in a Phase 3 trial. The drug was shown to significantly reduce agitation in patients with Alzheimer's disease, with caregivers reporting improvements in symptoms starting as soon as a week after treatment. The company plans to discuss the data with the FDA with the goal of bringing the medication to Alzheimer's patients experiencing agitation.
