Ready for an AWESOME NEW Timeless Eclectic Music Duo
They were on separate paths and things just weren’t coming together. The music wasn’t hittin’ like they both believed it could. B3E (aka Evan Bendel) was about to walk out the door on music and leave it behind, getting on a new path and preparing for a new career in law enforcement. But the opportunity to continue to do what he loves and clearly was born to do happened when they teamed up. While Evan has always been called “Bee” because of his last name, he flipped this 3rd time's a charm destiny moment, put it in his name and invested his supreme vocals into this new iteration of his skills. The story for JOANZ (aka Kenzell Jones), who was just stepping into the game–finding his voice and trying to find his focus and his fire–is that he’s a wordsmith who grabbed his moniker from the motion picture “Love Jones” as a play on his musicality. That also includes his ability to play several instruments (bass, guitar, drums and saxophone). JOANZ had lyrics and needed something else, a voice that could punch up and push back on his verses with lyrics that helped the music catch fire. As fate would have it, a mutual friend introduced the duo, thinking it was for one song, one time only. But their convergence brought magic, just the magic that they both needed to forge ahead, so 2 solo artists put ego and pride aside and let the music ride. “We got into the studio and it was on and poppin’ since then.” The song that brought the duo together hasn’t even been released, but it did its job in bringing together these 2 talents to make music and set their sights on stardom

Inspired by everyone from Al Green, Michael Jackson, Commodores, Bee Gees, Earth, Wind & Fire and Sam Cooke to Roger Troutman, OutKast, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne, with both artists heavily influenced by Michael Jackson, these young music makers know what a great duo can do when they put their minds and their melodies to work! With a sound and solid respect for music that covers genres and generations, B3E sings for his soul while Joanz spits lyrics that include a Luther Vandross reference on “IN MY EAR,” while “NO BREAKS” pays homage to Bobby Brown’s “Every Little Step,” but with a spin on it that talks about needing to take a step back and away.

The familiar meets the ferocious!

The melodic “SONG SPEAK” is sinewy and sensual, but from a man’s perspective, it is unexpectedly vulnerable while playfully paying tribute to Aaliyah’s “Rock The Boat,” showcasing the vocal skills of B3E and the floetry of JOANZ. The opposite is true of “WELL KNOWN,” with the hook “I ain’t really with the handouts and I don’t wanna fit in I’d rather stand out!” It’s a declaration that tells you that they didn’t come into the game to just have material success. They use vocals and verses to talk about hard work, commitment to their art and their audacity in believing that it’s their time! “N***s ain’t been where I be, seen what I seen. (Now they) all on me (like they) all know me.” Audacity goes to another level with “NOTICE ME,” their newest joint, telling the story of working hard as a young father (B3E) and a young cat with something to prove to the streets and to him. “It’s just me, I ain’t have a Plan B!”
