With most of the population still working from home, there’s a gap in many companies’ ability to provide a sense of community, mentorship and support for their employees. It’s hard for employers to gauge how their people are adjusting and assess what could be impeding their innovation, morale and productivity? Just a few weeks ago, Netflix CEO read Hastings, known for his straightforward leadership style and for his radical candor spoke out on how working remotely is hurting the ability to collaborate with staff. He says it’s a pure negative and makes debating ideas even harder. Conversely, we also know that many people prefer working from home as it’s currently safer, eliminates tiresome commutes and enables people to have more flexibility in their schedules. Fortunately for those employees who continue to work remotely, there’s ways managers can help team members overcome obstacles inherent in remote working that might be impeding their success. According to Josh Christopherson, CEO of Achieve Today, these obstacles can be overcome with new technology combined with supportive leadership.
