"It's a life-changing thing. That scholarship, you know, I went to because I had been a caddy."

Welcome Bob Harig

We’re joined on the Starline by a writer, you’ve read in The First Call, SI.com, and previously covered golf for ESPN and the Tampa Bay Times. The past president of the Golf Writers Association of America and author of “Drive: The Lasting Legacy of Tiger Woods.” We welcome Bob Harig.

Bob, let’s go Beyond the Mic. You’ve had a good relationship with Tiger Woods over the years. After a 10 in the 2020 Masters there was, you called it "a small, simple reminder of his resiliency, his determination" How has his determination and drive changed?

What one fact amazes you about Tiger after covering him?

What made Tiger’s cut streak so impressive to someone didn’t follow golf as much as you do and who has the potential of coming halfway to matching it?

The Rockin' 8:

It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions, answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

1. Favorite memory of the Indiana Daily Student Newspaper?

2. Are you in favor or not in favor of the PGA Reshuffle?

3. Best golf course you’ve ever played?

4. Do you still have your copy of “Pin Pointers”?

5. Best round you’ve ever shot was a...?

6. Best round you ever saw BEFORE Tiger Woods?

7. Do you like the Waste Management Phoenix Open 16th green or not?

8. In the long run, who will win, LIV or the PGA?

One Big Question:

How did your Evans Scholarship at Indiana (for golf caddies) help you love the game even more?

Where can people find your work?

The Wrap:

He loved watching Fred Couples play Augusta, shot a 76 once and he wants you to read “Drive: The Lasting Legacy of Tiger Woods.” Bob Harig thanks for taking the time to talk with us today.

And that my friends is a Beyond the Mic Short Cut.
