Wolfe Street  These two wooden artisan houses are believed to be the last two of their kind in Baltimore. Although most of the houses you've learned about on your tour are constructed of brick and mortar, about half of the homes in the late 18th century were made of wood. Designed to house Baltimore's increasing population of laborers, these charming little houses are just 192 square feet each. Most of Baltimore's middle class, shopkeepers, ship caulkers, blacksmiths, and sailmakers, lived in this type of home.
