With no context outside of the key art, our hosts were in the dark about this random selection from the Xbox Game Pass "Surprise Me" button. It turns out to be a third-person action RPG developed in New Zealand by A44 and published by Annapurna Interactive. While that is a bit more to work with, it still doesn't paint the full picture of what this decidedly stylized title has to offer. With themes drawn from Cormack McCarthy's The Road, and combat mechanics inspired by Dark Souls, a vision of the experience starts coming into focus. But what happens when they picked up their controllers and that vision met with reality? Each host has invested an hour and now they meet to briefly discuss their findings.
