This week Eleanor and Neil chat with Ben Taylor from House of Honey. Ben and his team have created an incredible community of like-minded souls who gather every year to enjoy a festival celebrating Love, Kindness and Tolerance, as well as getting together for other parties through the year.
The fact that the festival is called GIVE! Kind of says it all and sums up the spirit of what House of Honey is all about. Last year was only the second time the festival couldn't take place - Ben explains the first time, and you won't guess why that was.
As we emerge from the pandemic and tentatively plan for summer events, Ben talks candidly about not just the practical considerations of running mass participation events, but how the last year has changed his approach and thinking about many aspects of what he does, and why he does it.
At a time when we need giving, kindness, and tolerance more than ever, our conversation goes beyond the challenges of cleanliness, vaccinations, and distancing to consider why we need to meet with others and the importance of getting together in a way that is safe, reassuring and still enjoyable.
