The Merle Haggard Story (Pt 12) Pioneers of Country welcomes you to “The Merle Haggard Story” - a syndicated program originally broadcast in early 1985, including many interviews. PLAYLIST: Leonard My Favorite Memory Merle Haggard passed away on April 6, 2016. Not long after Live 365 went out of business, so we never got to do a proper tribute broadcast. That is until now. Among them was this several part syndicated broadcast titled “The Merle Haggard Story”. I thought it would be a great tribute to “The Hag” if we rebroadcast this part of Merle's beginnings, and continuing to his mid career popularity.…

2:12:10Cybershortwave December 24, 2000 Yes, you read correctly. 24 years ago! Our Christmas Eve program from the year 2000. Since it was a Christmas special, we put together a special show opening with Christmas oriented short clips. Dave opens the program by wishing all listeners a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Dave runs the chat room and says hello to those listeners in the chat room. The first tune is a Christmas song sung in the Dutch language (at the time our format was “world type music” songs from all over the world). The format was also directed to shortwave listeners and ham radio operators. Next tune is “Christmas in Australia” a tune the explains that it's summer at that time of year and it is HOT there. Next is “The Little Drummer Boy” sung in the French language. More shortwave information from listeners. After that we celebrate Christmas in Hawaii - Mele Kalikimaka! That's the first 30 minutes of the program, there's 101 minutes to go! You may even hear a Christmas country music tune or two. Merry Christmas!
