Roughly six years ago - at the age of 40 - Candice Burroughs chose to take up long distance running

And over the next couple of years, the Mom of three from Rhode Island, decided to tackle the six World Majors

She compeled Chicago, Boston, New York and London between the fall of 2021 and the spring of 2023

Between majors, Candice ran the Marine Core Marathon DC that fall before flying to Japan to run Tokyo earlier this year.

Five down...one to go!

Next stop?

Berlin!

But those plans were put on hold...

Prior to leaving Tokyo, Candice began to experience pain...

As she got dressed one morning, she felt a hard golf ball-sized growth on her breast

There's no way

How could this be?

She was young, healthy and too active to be sick...

And he last mammogram from five months earlier was clear!

Candice was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breat cancer shortly after returning home

Her treatment was rough

She experienced several set backs

She also had a double mastectomy

And although, her recovery is not yet complete - Candice Burroughs is 100% cancer free...
