Gold checks will be given to verified companies, grey checks to verified government officials, and blue checks to verified individual accounts (celebrities or not) on Twitter. This verification process will be painful but necessary, according to CEO Elon Musk. All verified accounts will be manually authenticated before the check mark is activated. Individuals can also have a secondary "tiny logo" if they belong to a verified organisation. The new system is a shift from the original plan to make the blue verification tick available to anyone willing to pay $8 per month for Twitter Blue.
