Twitter CEO Elon Musk tweeted that the company aims to re-launch its account verification scheme next Friday, on Dec. 2. The new program will have multiple colors for different kinds of accounts, and Musk says that there will be manual verification before the checkmark activates. This is the second time that Musk has tried to launch a paid verification system, after the first attempt was met with criticism. Musk has made the paid verification service a cornerstone of his tenure atop the social media platform, as a number of advertisers have slowed or stopped spending on Twitter.
