Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has retracted her earlier comments that there was no basis for an investigation into Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter. She has now said that such an investigation may be appropriate if national security concerns are raised. This change in stance comes after President Joe Biden said that Musk's ties to foreign investors warranted scrutiny. Yellen has said that the government is currently looking into the matter. FTX, a company affiliated with Musk, has filed for bankruptcy protection in Delaware. However, the process may be complicated by the fact that the government of the Bahamas, where FTX is based, is asserting its own jurisdiction over FTX's assets. Yellen also commented on the slowing economy in China, saying that it could have a negative impact on the global outlook.
