People want to feel supported and safe at work – and inspired to innovate. What can people working at large corporations do to create this kind of environment? Saskia Mureau is the Director of Customer Digital at the Port of Rotterdam where she is harnessing digital systems to reduce emissions. She is passionate about creating inclusive workplaces where psychological safety and collaboration drive meaningful change. In this episode, Kamila sits down with Suchi to talk about why she chose to work at large corporations rather than startups. Saskia also reflects on her personal experiences, including navigating IVF while at work, and discusses how organizations can foster environments where employees feel empowered to bring their whole selves to work. Contagion® Community delves into some of the social factors that create and widen healthcare disparities. In surveying our audience, 75% of respondents viewed healthy equity as a major issue within medicine. Infectious disease often disproportionately occurs along the lines of ethnicity, race, class, education, sexual orientation, geographic location, and more. The entwined nature of healthcare inequity and social factors inhibits us from examining infectious disease objectively, which is why Contagion Community spotlights underserved populations. Through interviews with experts, we will offer insights into the issues associated with healthcare inequities and examine which strategies and solutions are being deployed to overcome these issues. Contagion Community is a marriage of major conversations occurring in hospitals, labs, academics, and communities.
