1:15:43Introducing the one and only Patrick Gnerlich! WARNING: This episode was previously recorded and discusses mental health fairly in depth so listening discretion is advised. We get really deep into how men in America today need to be able to be self aware and assist themselves in getting mental health assistance where needed. Whether that lies in getting diagnosed, going to therapy, checking yourself in for drug use or suicide, it's always worth getting help wherever you may find it. Even if that assistance is found in friendships and relationships that are close by. We discuss how in those relationships in moments of weakness, that we need to be comfortable about talking about mental health from male to male in this society. Discussing how people have so many hurdles in American health care systems and work places, with not only one's self, but also their children when it is needed. Understanding that having the access to resources for mental health should be more easily accessible in this country. Talking about mental health and keeping your head in a good space is something that is a life long journey, and not a cure or destination. Have a reflective time listening to the personal instances that happen to both Patrick and Jonathan and how they deal with their day to day in their own mental health when it comes to family, coping mechanisms, depression, ADHD, work places, therapy sessions, cheating, and even suicide. This episode will feels like a cold bath, a little shocking at first, but feels good to the body in the end. Get some of that Homegrown in ya!…

1:31:39This episode is heavier than a Led Zeppelin... I may have wanted to start it out light, cause we get deep with Annette Alatorre about her personal experiences with suicide and mental health as well as the overall stigma surrounding the topic. From calling the police to help her sister whom she watched down an entire bottle of sleeping pills, to checking herself in to the hospital for her own well being as recent as 2020 during Covid. Her encounters with great people whom she's lost as friends to their own suicides and how she's coped with those as best as she can. The brain and mental health is a funny human organ and we feel it doesn't get the attention it deserves here at Homegrown Podcast, so we urge you to listen to this in depth discussion from two people who are pursuing getting into the mental health field based on their own personal, what some might say traumatic, experiences. This episode will make your entire body feel heavy, but in a relatable, taking vitamins type of way. Get some fo that Homegrown in ya!…

1:10:00This is our second time with good friend Adam Gharib on the podcast. This time we wanted to take a specific look into working too hard and burning out, setting up boundaries for yourself and the wellbeing of the people around you and general mental health. Whether it's bosses asking more out of you than they are willing to communicate, to not getting paid after doing the work you agreed to. Remembering as a free lance artist that last minute bookings don't necessarily mean it's a good opportunity as they usually don't have the time to properly prepare. So listen in to get some of the details Adam has suggested has given him a clearer head, more time, and better mental health. Enjoy the episode. This episode will give you motivation while making things clearer in your head. HomeGrown Podcast, come get some!…

Chicago born and Belvidere raised in Illinois, Adam is from Palestinian background and has done Camera, DP, and video work for the likes of Sugar Shane Mosley, Wiz Khalifa, Nelly & Florida Georgia Line, and has even had meetings with the one and only Kanye (he doesn't like to brag, so we'll do it for him) With a great love story he tells how his parents came to America and instilled great work ethic into him. Inspired by music videos by Michael Jackson and Dre, Adam has done countless Music Videos but also has a great eye for narrative work and can collab on anything that has videography in the works. We discuss growing up in a predominantly white town and what that was like growing up for him and some of the issues he ran into there as well.
