She loved dancing. When she saw The Nutcracker show as a little girl, she said “I want to do that!” to her mom. She started training with the dance team, was sore all over her body. She put her body and soul into this passion and craft. She was Ecstatic. Elated. Happy. Until she got the letter. Listen to my interview with my business mentor, Sarah Walton, and our conversation about the limited belief “you can either take care of yourself or your family BUT you can’t have both”. What happens when we believe we don’t have control over our time? Why isn’t money as accessible for women as it is for men? The limiting beliefs women are conditioned to accept to stay small, be cute, or continue to believe they’re crazy. What’s the number #1 skill women have to develop to be successful in business? 1 171. My Speaker Slam Speech 21:16
Last week I finally (after two cancellations) shared my speech with the world on stage. This story is difficult for me to share but it’s my responsibility to share it. One day, my daughters will see it and understand that I’ve done it for them. Nothing else. This is my legacy. This is me passing down a baton of confidence, energy and passion instead of a baton of guilt, shame and sacrifice. I hope you enjoy it. Announcements For now, this podcast will be launched monthly instead of weekly. With everything that is happening in the world right now, children studying from home, homeschooling, no social life, isolation, etc I’ve decided to tone the show down a bit. Don’t worry! I am still around, just not as often as usual Life is about adapting and course correcting, and we’re all doing our best. I’ve created a women’s circle which will be run monthly. This is your chance to be a part of a women circle online to help support yourself and your family. To read more about it and join, please head on over to www.doritpalvanov.com/circle My speaker’s slam speech was amazing! So many women told me that they’ve seen themselves in my story. This isn’t easy for me to share but I am committed to being open and vulnerable with my journey because ultimately, we’re here to share our and inspire each other. Having said that, I have a disclaimer. This story isn’t meant to blame my mom, on the contrary, both her and I are the product of generational conditioning and suppression which has got to stop! I am taking a stand for my daughters and changing the narrative for my daughters. Join me in doing so too!…

Sex and money are two taboos we, women, rarely don’t talk about. As women, we often feel more comfortable disclosing our age or weight than to share how much money we’re making, how much money do we have in our bank account and what’s our credit score. The same goes true for sex. Women don’t often talk about sex, women are the ones having headaches to avoid sex, women are the ones choosing Netflix over sex. I often wonder why? Why is sex such a taboo for women? So I polled my community, and the one answer that really hit home with me was that women aren’t taught that sex is for them. Sex is really for the man, so we avoid it and we don’t talk about it. We don’t explore it. We don’t ask for help with it and the same goes true about money. So today we’re combining these two taboo topics because they are not that different and also because it’s time we talk about it vulnerable, with no masks and veils. Its time we own up our power as women in money AND sex. Because making money as a woman is sexy, it is powerful and that doesn’t mean you’re a bad woman for making money. Today I’m chatting with Jessica Weaver who schooled me about one topic I definitely need help with, money. About Jessica Weaver Jessica Weaver is a wealth advisor, best selling author, and financial blogger of Not Your Father’s Advisor . Jess works with career drive, business-minded women who are busy working and saving. They don’t have time to manage their money and to ensure they are optimizing every opportunity out there. She is the founder of #pinkfix, a community of powerhouse women to help them grow their careers or businesses, build wealth, and form lasting relationships. Highlights from today’s interview 1. Jessica’s story and what makes her different than other financial advisors? 2. What are women’s struggles with money? 3. How to unlearn cultural conditioning that money is the man’s domain? 4. What if you aren’t motivated by money? 5. How to manage a financial crisis as a woman? 6. What is the best way for women to build confidence with their money? 7. Why is Net-worth a reflection of our Self-worth and vice versa? 8. Sexual energy between men and women and how money plays a role in that? 9. What’s sexy about making money? 10. How to raise daughters who aren’t afraid of their power in money and sex? Years ago, when I was working through healing some of the emotional crap I hired a coach who taught me something I actually already knew. Wait, what? Yes, she taught me to write in my journal as a self-regulating technique to learn to listen to myself better. You see, I knew about it already. Problem was that I wasn’t practicing it daily. What’s the point of knowing something without practicing it? Transformation happens in the action, not in the ideation process. Simply said, journaling has changed my life. Through it, I’ve learned to soothe myself, emotionally regulate, listen to myself and connect with my inner wise-mother. Today’s episode is a new type of journaling and I think it’s super powerful and effective. About my guest, ST Rappaport ST Rappaport is a Relationship Photographer, Creative Journal Expressive Arts Coach and host of the LifePix Relationships Podcast. After observing, listening, and connecting with so many couples, ST is on a mission to find out what makes relationships work and how they can become extraordinary and is here to help as many couples as possible. Highlights from today’s episode 1. ST’s story and how she learned to use the CJA technique 2. What is the Creative Journal Expressive Arts (CJA)? How does it work? 3. How can I use it to express my emotions? 4. How can it help me understand myself better/overcome challenges? 5. How can I work through my baggage & recover my female energy? Today on the show I get real, raw and vulnerable about my story of origin. I never thought I'd tell this story because I didn't think it mattered. However, this week I was interviewed on a podcast and when the host asked me 'how did your childhood shape you?'. In the beginning, I was dumbfounded, I didn't know what to say. I thought my story begins with motherhood. That's when it all began... Not true. It all began when I was born (well, actually, much longer before, but I'll spare you the details). In this episode, I share how growing in a dysfunctional family shaped me and catapulted me into emotional burnout. I share this story because each one of us has one. We all have a past and our past shapes who we are today. The more awareness you have the less blind spots you'll encounter. When you know WHY you're unhappy, unfulfilled, unsatisfied, sucked-dry it's easier to change your life around and take action on the life that you do want. In fact, this is exactly why I'm sharing this with you. You CAN change your life around. You CAN heal your old patterns of behaviour. You don't have to repeat what you'd witnessed growing up. You CAN do much better for you. This isn't intended to blame, guilt or shame our parents, only to see their humanity and stop putting them on a pedestal of perfection. They're human. You're human. Let's embrace our humanity and thrive in it. I want to hear from you! Did you resonate with my story? What touched you? Share with me on Instagram @doritpalvanovcoaching…

Mamas, These past few weeks I've dealt with some pretty difficult family drama. For the privacy of my family members, I won't mention the exact details, but I will tell you that this had the potential of sucking the energy out of me. Surprisingly, it didn't. In the past, something as big as this had the power over me to knock me off my feet. I have a close relationship with my parents (maybe too close) and seeing them struggle or in pain had the power to shut me down for weeks. I remember myself needing to 'sleep it off' just to have some energy to function in my life. I remember the headaches, migraines, inability to focus, lack of creativity, living in a fog, all because my energy was depleted. I wasn't aware that my family was the reason for it. I blamed myself for being... weak. I thought I was weak because I didn't eat right, exercise enough, or had the right people in my life. All of these things matter, of course, but more than anything I learned that it was my job to 'patch my energy leaks' BEFORE I do anything to create more energy. My moto is - Energy preservation comes BEFORE energy cultivation. First, we have to learn how to contain our energy, and then how to sustain it. This is the work I've been doing with myself and my clients. Want to learn more? Click here to connect with me. Speaking of energy, I want to introduce you to my guest Guest Jennifer Schlueter who shares about the art of relaxing the mind and opening up the subconscious in order to remove limiting beliefs and “blocks”, most of which are connected to our past. About Jennifer Schlueter Her journey in hypnosis actually started when she was living in Los Angeles, living a full life with an inspiring job, a nice apartment, and great friends...and yet somehow feeling deeply unfulfilled. After a single hypnosis session, she knew with great clarity that she was going to begin travelling and gain time freedom. Since then, she left her job, lived off her savings while attempting to become an influencer, scrapped that to become a VA, and eventually transitioned to hypnotherapy, returning to the practice that had caused her to change her own life so drastically. Jennifer primarily works with entrepreneurs who KNOW they want to do more in their businesses...but find that it just isn’t happening. By using hypnosis to identify internalized stories, Jennifer is able to guide clients through the process of changing those narratives and breaking free from the past. Highlights from today's episode 1. Jennifer's story of transforming from an unconfident woman to a strong 2. The difference between stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy 3. How a hypnotherapy session is conducted. 4. What's the difference between hypnotherapy and meditation? 5. How to use past life regression to recover from chronic pain, what it is, how it's done, and when is a good idea to try it? 6. What is a near-death-experience (NDE)? 7. Why is it important to understand your subconscious mind and how to access it? 8. What would you say to a woman who's aspiring to become more confident? 5. Entrepreneurship is one way to build more confidence. But so many of my clients struggle with making their business dreams a reality. Can you share a bit about why that happens? Hey gorgeous! On today’s show, I’d like to share step number one in Getting To Know Yourself, my brand new audio training. That is identifying yourself and how you manage your body’s energy. Here we go (the link to the full training can be found over at www.doritpalvanov.com/gettoknowyourself ) Enjoy! Transcript: You know that the experience of a woman is different from a man’s (being different doesn’t imply inferiority). But the fact that women are expected to operate in life and business as a man is absurd! Men and women have been created differently for a reason and I want you to live your life embracing this truth and accepting it. We’re going to begin by introducing you to two types of women I work with and by the end of it, you’ll self identify which woman you resonate with most. Why does this matter? Simplicity. Isn’t that what we all crave? I’ve been in this industry long enough to see how confusing ‘health’ can be. Especially as women. Your conditions are merely symptoms of a deeper-rooted issue. Many of the answers to the conditions you have lay in the framework I’m going to teach you today. Conditions like: Hormonal imbalances – heavy, painful, irregular periods. Emotional and mental instabilities – Brain fog, Moodiness, Overwhelm, Snappy behaviour. Why do you tend to burn out ? Why do you feel sucked-dry of energy? Why doesn’t life feel fun anymore? Why do you feel frustrated and uninspired ? The answers lay in the differences between the two types of women I’ve observed in my practice. Actually, not so much the type as much as how she operates in the world. How she uses her body energy to live her life. Meet Kimberly. She’s an ambitious go-getter. She’s confident and experienced in the marketplace and knows how and where to push to see results in her job or business. A kick-ass businesswoman. She’s busy and has a demanding job. She’s the breadwinner in her household. Often the only woman in a male-dominant workplace – striving, competing – to be seen and heard against all odds. She’s determined. Hard-working. Relentlessly paving her way to the top. She’s a professional. Educated. Often has multiple degrees under her belt (maybe even a Ph.D.). She’s incredibly smart, talented, skilled and…. tired. Actually she’s exhausted . She secretly wonders what’s the point of it all. Kimberly feels good at work but unsuccessful at home. She misses the kids. She craves to spend more time with them. Dreams of vacations and time off just to catch up with them. She has a nanny and a housekeeper, but she misses home. She wishes to have more time. When she leaves the house she exits her body. She isn’t satisfied with her marriage. Her sex life is so-so. It’s good but not great. Her husband isn’t the man she hoped he’d be. She often considers separation but knows this will shatter the kids. Her man isn’t a great husband but is a great dad. Women like Kimberly tend to come into my practice feeling guilty because seemingly, she has everything. The career, a family, the house, cars, vacations, a convenient lifestyle… Still, something isn’t enough . Women like Kimberly often use birth control pills for most of their lives and when they get off of it, experience their emotions for the first time and don’t know what to do with them. Kimberly often wonders why her body is so messy? She wants to get her periods under control. She feels afraid, disgusted and even mad at femininity. She questions herself. Often grumpy. She has vicious dreams, and spirals down on an emotional roller coaster. Food gives her a wicked handover. She feels unstable, unbalanced, wobbly. She wonders – what is wrong with me? She never really got to know herself. Meet Melissa. Melissa is a SAHM (or works but not her life’s work). She’s dedicated her life to her family. She spends loads of energy trying to please everybody and rarely takes time for herself. She depends on her husband financially and dreams of financial independence. Melissa has a vision of starting a blog, or a business she can run from home working part-time hours in between her household responsibilities. She knows it’s possible, she’d seen other women doing it. She knows she can do it too. But for some reason, she never gets to it. She promised herself to get up early in the morning but never does. She knows she needs to be consistent, but never has the energy to stick with it. Her days are hectic with her waking up with the kids and feeling moody. Sometimes she gets stubborn and doesn’t want to be around anyone (husband and kids included). She just wants time for herself. Alone. Every now and then she has breakdowns and lashes out. Mental and emotional breakdowns cause her trouble in her marriage and with the kids. She’s infested with fear, confusion and regret. She’s stressed about money. She often wonders when will she be making her own money? She wants her husband to be proud of her, but instead, he judges her and can’t understand why she’s not coping. When he gets upset, she gets upset and tends to lose focus. He spends hours upon hours trying to ‘fix’ and analyze her by acting like her ‘therapist’. She feels trapped and ‘domesticated’. She feels like she’s lost herself in the life of motherhood and being a wife. She doesn’t believe she has the power to break the generational pattern she has been born into. She feels alone and craves community. Melissa wants to belong to something bigger than herself and her family. In terms of health conditions, women like Melissa, complain about conditions like irregular and heavy periods (thyroid and adrenal issues), adult acne, weight gain, bulky arms and back, brain fog, cognitive and mental issues, short-term-memory-loss and emotional eating. She wonders – what is wrong with me? So today you’re going to learn three steps on how to understand yourself as a woman so you can become the confident, energized and passionate woman you were destined to be on your own terms. This is the foundation to creating a life that works for you instead of against you. This training will help you become a victor instead of a victim of life’s circumstances. You have the power to have anything you want. The question isn’t ‘Why’, but ‘Why not’? Or ‘Why me?’ but ‘Why not me?’ This training will be like a powerful coaching session with me, on-demand! You know that the experience of a woman is different from a man’s (being different doesn’t imply inferiority). But the fact that women are expected to operate in life and business as a man is absurd! Men and women have been created differently for a reason and I want you to live your life embracing this truth and accepting it. She, too, never really got to know herself. Want the rest of the audio training? Today on the podcast I’m chatting with Jenn Taylor from www.momof18.com . Jenn is mom to 18 kids. Yes, you’ve read that right, eighteen. Some of those kids are biological and some are adopted and others are from foster care. I loved how Jenn said, ‘all of them are mine and don’t ever ask me that again’. 18 children have blessed her life. She went through infertility, seven pregnancies and has 12 years of foster parenting under her belt, plus a few more working at a non-profit with foster kids. She’s been a stay-at-home Mom, homeschooling and making baby food from scratch, a Mom working in the corporate world and an Entrepreneurial Mom. She’s been divorced, and a single mom and She’s also experienced life with a blended family. In the end, she was blessed to end up with kids from everywhere. More than “Yours, Mine and Ours” – an amalgam of foster children who aged out, adopted children, stepchildren, biological children and even a foreign exchange student. Man, if that’s not inspiring I don’t know what is! This was a conversation where I was listening more than talking because quite frankly, I find it fascinating and even impossible that someone can raise 18 children and come out on the other side not burnt out. So, yet again, I was wrong. As usual, I was projecting my own crap and fears. If you find raising children wearying and if you believe that you’re burnt out because you have multiple children, wait until you hear Jenn’s story and more importantly her outlook and mindset. By the end of this conversation, I observed myself feeling more empowered and trusting my abilities to raise ‘only’ tree kids. You’ll hear Jenn respond to this comment with a beautiful analogy that changed everything for me. No matter how many kids we have, we are all parents. Being a parent is hard. It’s exhausting and challenging on so many levels but it’s also the thing that builds us up. Motherhood and parenting allows us to be in the valley between mountains of opposing energies at all times. You’re tired and energized at the same time. You’re angry and in-love at the same time! You’re inspired and depleted at the same time! You’re happy, ecstatic and annoyed at the same time. That’s the gift of motherhood for me. Learning how to be OK ‘in the valley of motherhood’. Because motherhood is simply one aspect of who you are, but you are so much more than that, Jenn is a great example of that. She’s a mom of 18 kids, and also a minimalist, athlete, wife, bursting with sarcasm and humour. I just loved this conversation and can’t wait to share it with you!! Buckle up mama, this interview will blow your mind! Enjoy listening! Highlights from today’s interview Jenn’s journey of raising 18 kids How Jenn is healing familial dysfunction Jenn’s attitude towards logistics and managing the household with 18 kids Jenn’s take on resourcefulness and creatively solving problems as a mom How she managed to stay confident, energized and sexy as a mom of 18 kids? Compounding joy theory What makes her feel confident, energized and sexy as a woman Jenn and I want to hear from you How many kids do you have?
