He has also written for a wide range of scholarly and policy publications, including International Security, International Studies Quarterly, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The New Republic, Harper's, Slate, Time Magazine, and The Nation. We spoke to Peter about how the political games surrounding the U.S. Mexico border have evolved since he first started studying the issue over twenty years ago, how the escalation to a more militarized border has had extremely negative and deadly side effects, and how he expects border issues to be utilized by politicians in the upcoming mid-term elections in the United States.
