Jessica Rosenberg, E-RYT 500, YACEP, MID, RYS 200/500, Reiki Master, is committed to helping students live an inspired life through Mindful Moments. She is an author, a national mind & body educator, a leader in the wellness community and a yoga instructor, teaching the wisdom practice of yoga for over 20 years and practicing since she was a teenager. Jes’s passion for mindfulness and movement has allowed her to cultivate a uniquely blended teaching style to help students of any age find alignment on and off the yoga mat. Jes has a ‘Live to Learn’ sunny, soulful, bohemian vibe. She is an artist, a voracious reader, and loves to take walks around the lakes with friends. Her guilty pleasure is to rock-out singing 80’s Rock & Roll in the car. She finds teaching inspirational and is motivated by the Dalai Lama XIV quote, “As you breathe in, cherish yourself. As you breathe out, cherish all Beings.” Jes’s talents have been recognized in numerous print publications including Yoga Journal. ×Honored to share a meditation for this moment in time as we navigate COVID-19 and the challenging circumstances it brings about personally, professionally, and for the earth. Living is a privilege but we made Mother Earth a bit angry! We neglect her gifts. Got lazy, thoughtless. We’ve pushed a button and the earth is on fire. It’s time to listen! It’s a wake-up call, an awareness practice. This pandemic is horrible - don’t get me wrong, but the dis-ease and dis-comfort in the universe right now is palatable - it is also breaking open human generosity and empathy and reducing our planetary impact. It is super hard for humans to live through big times of change, but we have the tools and we have the ability to be resilient and thrive. In this meditation I want to have you choose optimism and compassion. Let’s set the intention today, together to: ‘Root Down to Rise Up’ a meditation to the earth and our root chakras/earth elements so that we can create balance and stay as steady, grounded and flexible as a tree during this unique time. Our bodies are incredible superhuman machines powered by the breath. Every day we breathe automatically without even thinking. Like eating, inhale’s and exhale’s offers us the power and energy to live.
