In the CEE region, especially in Visegrad countries the increasing interest and involvement of East Asian powers are visible. Japan, South-Korea and Taiwan are interested in the foreign direct investments while China ios presented with its Belt and Road initiative and several promising projects. It is an important question, whether these countries are just enjoying the attractive investment environment or they have strategic-political goals too? The whole region is affected by China’s 17+1 cooperation platform; the view of the experts is strongly divisive ont he subject. Dr. László Vasa, senior researcher and chief advisor of the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade discusses these topics with Richard Q. Turcsányi from Czech Republic (program director, Central European Institute of Asian Studies), Justyna Szczudlik from Poland (head of Asia-Pacific Program, Polish Institute of International Affairs) and Kyoko Hatakeyama from Japan (associate professor, Kansai Gaidai University, Japan). The view from Gellert Hill ("Kilátás a hegyről") is the podcast series of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The file features a part from the song entitled "Something Elated" from the brand Broke for Free (freemusicarchive.org/music/Broke_Fo…ething_Elated).
